On the Mode of Existence of Textural Objects: Towards Tissue Studies

Cytotherapy (Elsevier)

In this work, we propose Tissue Studies as a new philosophical-technical field, mapping Tissue Engineering's practices and defining tissue's ontological status. We seek to illustrate how TE does not simply produce "tissues" but instead creates liminal textural objects—technical entities that partly regenerate tissue function while never being equivalent to true biological tissue.

Généra — on Generative Medicine

Proceedings of the VI National Congress on Regenerative Medicine

The Généra project is a philosophical project in tissue engineering that aims to overcome current limitations and complete the revolution in tissue engineering. The work is based on the concepts of modern materialist philosophy and "weaving", which opens up new perspectives in regenerative medicine.

Liminal Biomaterials. Apophatic and Cataphatic Tissue Engineering

8th China-Europe Symposium on Biomaterials in Regenerative Medicine

The interplay between the tissue liminality and apophatic/cataphatic modes of TECs production was identified. It is aimed to bring the TECs out of their liminal state and create a conceptual field where we can think of novel uses of biomaterials in TE. Further investigation has to be focussed on how to engage into contemplating about tissues as tissues, on their rules and on their ground. This purely phenomenological method based on a proposed field of tissue studies will open up a possibility to design a conceptual tissue engineering machine called Généra opening new avenues for generative medicine.

Special Biotech Zone: Integrating Whitehead's Process Philosophy and Industry 4.0 for Workforce Development

International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy

The Special Biotech Zone leverages process and object-oriented ontologies to develop an adaptive, real-time workforce development ecosystem. This model aligns with Whitehead's process philosophy, emphasizing continuous becoming and interconnectedness, aiming to seamlessly integrate education with industry.

Généra — a Tissue Engineering Machine

Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia

I demonstrated the feasibility of a universal tissue engineering machine (Généra), which likely possesses a weaving nature and will fill a vacant niche in this periodic system. It will ultimately conclude the tissue engineering revolution, resolving the longstanding enigma of genuine tissue weaving.
